ACCRU FELSERS

We were delighted to welcome our visiting audit team from GCA Associates, a fellow MGI firm, on a 10-week secondment. To mark their arrival, the Indian team organised a fantastic fun filled night of Bollywood Trivia as part of our usual End of Month Celebrations.

The Accru Sydney team were treated to delicious Indian snacks and treats, along with a selection of (at sometimes quite tricky!) general knowledge questions all about India. Congratulations to the winning team on the day and we look forward to many more events to come!

We celebrated Greg Newbury’s 40 Year Anniversary at Accru Felsers and with Accru Financial Planning Pty Ltd. His many achievements and dedication to his work over his tenure at Accru have contributed to our success!

We once again celebrated Chinese/ Lunar New Year for 2023 with snacks, morning tea and of course many red envelopes to be won! The year of the Rabbit brings with it a time to slow down, reflect and strive for balance around work, money and life.

We wish all our staff and clients a joyful, healthy, prosperous and happiest Year of the Rabbit!

Accru Felsers and the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce were delighted to host the Sydney 2023 New Year Reception aboard the James Craig Tall Ship on 8th March.

We were honoured to have Executive Director, Dr. Gabi Rose and Consul-General Axel Zeidler welcome our members and guests as we set sail across the beautiful Sydney Harbour. Our own Steven Zabeti addressed the audience by sharing an overview of Environment, Social and Governance developments from around the world including the European Commission, United States and Australian Regulators. We look forward to many more events as part of our association with the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce over the year to come!

Our firm was proud to support the Pride Month celebrations in Sydney during the month of March.

Pride month is all about celebrating love; no matter who you are, or who you love, we are proud to celebrate, support and respect not only in pride month but all year round!

For the day, we all brought out our rainbow and bright coloured clothing celebrating over some pizza and drinks!

Our annual lawn bowls day always serves as a great opportunity to connect with different departments within the Accru Team in an environment of healthy competition! We once again celebrated the day at The Greens in North Sydney where we were all treated to a tasty barbeque lunch before hitting the greens for the bowls competition. A big congratulations to our winners on the day!

We celebrated St Pat’s Day with the Accru team dressing up in varying shades of green and the breakout room decorated with colourful shamrocks. We were lucky enough to even be treated to some traditional Irish music and dancing, which capped off a fantastic month-end celebration!

We have had a number of celebrations for Robyn’s retirement which was supposed to be last year, but we did ask her back to cover PA absences and train some of our new staff. It has been wonderful to have her over this extended period.

For most of her 20.5 years at Accru, Robyn was PA to Glenda Nixon and did a great job on a number of big projects. Clients really responded to Robyn to the point they would go straight to her. She continued to do work for Maggie as well and then has worked for Greg Newbury, Rebecca Beitzel and Will Merdy in the last twelve months.

On the social side, Robyn ran our Melbourne Cup event under Rebecca for many years and our Christmas picnics. She did a wonderful job and made an amazing contribution to the success of those events.

And yet, Robyn will be back soon! She has agreed to assist us in July to cover some PA leave. It is not farewell but see you soon!
