Lizzie and her husband Tim welcomed a beautiful boy into the world! Maxwell James Starkey arrived at 4:56am on 4th April.

Our Accru Melbourne Run Club hit the pavement for a great cause at Run for the Kids 2025.

We joined thousands of others to support The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne Good Friday Appeal. It was a day full of energy, community spirit, and a shared commitment to helping kids and families in need.

Each year, our team participates in the Australasian CA Training Group Training Program across all levels — a key part of our commitment to upskilling, innovation, and staying ahead in a fast-evolving industry.

From graduate levels to senior leaders, team members attend courses in Penrith, gaining valuable insights and networking opportunities alongside peers from ACATG member firms. The Director Course is hosted at various locations, designed to be both professionally enriching and family-friendly — welcoming partners and children to take part in the experience.

Tom’s dedication over the past two decades has been nothing short of inspiring. Since joining us in 2005, Tom has remained committed to delivering the highest level of client service — always striving to achieve the best possible financial outcomes for his clients and their families.

Tom joined us shortly after finishing his commerce degree at Melbourne Uni, when the wealth management team consisted of just 4 people. Since then, he’s played a pivotal role in developing the team — and the wider firm — into what it is today.

We want to take a moment to say a huge thank you, Tom, for everything you’ve contributed to Accru over the years. Your leadership, drive, and unwavering support have shaped so much of who we are and how far we’ve come. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with you!

Last week, Harry, one of our Senior team members at Accru, had the pleasure of presenting to undergraduate and postgraduate accounting students at Swinburne University of Technology.

Harry began by introducing Accru Melbourne, sharing insights into his career journey, and outlining the types of clients we work with. He then walked the students through a real-world case study, giving them a glimpse into the kind of work our graduates are involved in on a day-to-day basis.

It was a great opportunity to engage with future professionals and showcase the practical side of a career in accounting.

Audit had a team bonding afternoon involving a delicious lunch at the Royal Melbourne Hotel followed by an activity at 123Boom Melbourne which involved us solving mind bending puzzles, cracking codes and strategizing our way through 6 immersive game rooms full of challenges and it ended in the team having to diffuse a paint bomb!!

At the beginning of 2023, we proudly welcomed Richard Barker, the Miller Hannaker & Middleton (MHM) team, and their valued clients to Accru Melbourne. This merger marked an exciting new chapter, creating opportunities for our people and enhancing the services we provide.

To celebrate this milestone, we’ve recently updated our Proud History display in the Accru Melbourne reception — a small but meaningful way to recognise how far we’ve come, together.

Last Friday, our team came together at Harlow Bar to celebrate the end of the financial year. A huge thank you to our Social Club for organising a fantastic evening – the perfect way to reflect, connect, and recharge after a big year.
