Office-wide Update

After five years, Greg Winnett has handed over the reins of Chairperson. Greg will be taking on a more client facing role, predominantly in our Audit team. This provides an exciting opportunity for Tom Harris as he steps into the role of our Chairperson.

ALTO Event

We collaborated with a local networking group, ALTO (Australian – Italian Leaders of Tomorrow), a group that brings Italian professionals together, creating connections & partnerships amongst the Australian-Italian community. We enjoyed a spectacular feast, catered from a neighbourhood Italian restaurant whilst hearing from three speakers, educating us on wellness in the workplace & in our personal lives.

Conferences

It has been a busy quarter with staff jetting off to NSW & Queensland for three different conferences. We had several rising accountants attend the ACATG training course in Western Sydney, this was comprised of multiple opportunities to learn, develop their skills & network with other growing professionals. Within the same week, senior members of the team took to Sydney for the Accru National Conference, the Sydney Harbour Bridge as backdrop. Later in the month a selection of our director’s took to Hamilton Island for the Director’s ACATG conference. It was a busy few days of learning, but was well worth it for the connections made & not to mention the mountainous view outside.

Lunchtime Pilates

Our local pilates studio was generous enough to allow us access to a guided hot mat class during our lunch break. Whilst tough (& hot!) it was the perfect midday reset.

BAS Ice Skating Afternoon

In preparation for another frosty winter, our BAS team put on their skates for an afternoon on the Ice Rink. After a brief tutorial, they found their feet & gave it a good go! Hopefully we don’t need to utilise those skills in everyday life this winter!

Happy Sinhala & Tamil New Year

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in celebration of the Sri Lanken New Year! It was a great opportunity to come together & share in each other’s cultural traditions. The  homemade delicacies were equally as good!

Post Budget Morning Tea

What better way to hear about the ins & outs of the 2024 Federal Budget than by a session hosted by experts in the area? We were thankful to Peter Munckton, (Chief Economist & Head of Market Strategy at the Bank of Queensland) for joining us & providing an educational session to our clients & staff alike.  This was followed by our very own, Daniel Arnephy & Nick Petaroudas who showcased a summary of the tax & superannuation positioning within the budget. To wrap it up, we delighted in a morning tea spread.

Audit gets cooking

For their latest afternoon out, our Audit team cooked up a storm, making dumplings from scratch! What a great way to bond with one another & even better, getting to enjoy the creations together!

Worlds Biggest Morning Tea – Bake Off

We hosted our annual Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea – made bake off style! Nothing like a bit of friendly competition around the office. We had a beautiful spread of home-made goods prepared by our staff, who were ready to battle it out. Ultimately, our judges had to narrow it down to a top three! Well done to Charmaine & Jordan for coming in 2nd & 3rd place with their Yo-Yo’s & Salted Caramel Peanut Slice & a big congratulations to Lachie for taking home gold (The Accru Bake Off Trophy!)  Thanks to his Choc-Chip Muffins!

Netccru Team

Several staff came together to form a social Netball team in a local competition. Each Thursday Morning this quarter we have been eager to hear how our ‘Netccru’ team has played the night before!

Staff News

Chelsea & her husband Jake welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Sadie May!
