Pilates Sessions
As the health and wellbeing of our team is high on our agenda, we were excited to host a Pilates session with the lovely ladies at CorePlus Hawthorn East! It may have been a bit hot… but it was fun either way! Focusing on our wellbeing within the workplace helps maintain strong, positive employee relationships and creates a positive impact on our team building skills and productivity in the office!

Amazing Race
Our Wealth Management team got out of the office for the afternoon, hitting the streets of Melbourne for an Amazing Race! It was a terrific way to implement some team building. Though some teams may have gotten distracted along the way… it was a fantastic way to implement some team bonding and Lauren, Antonio, Tom, and Ally rained the champions!

Archery and Water Balloon Wars
Archery wars and time to get back on the Directors with a hilarious one-sided water balloon fight. A belated BAS celebration for reaching our December KPI targets.

Launch of the Accru Melbourne Social Club
With our newly launched social club at Accru Melbourne, we kicked it off with some fun in the sun playing some games of bowls! Everyone had lots of fun and was a great way to get to know people from separate divisions!

Chinese New Year Celebrations
We celebrated Chinese New Year with our BAS Associate Director, Chee Hii. Chee Hii shared some great videos and information on what this festivity means to her. It was such a great and interesting way to showcase Chinese culture; and of course, was a great way to enjoy some delicious, traditional Chinese treats!

RMIT University Careers Fair
Kate Cain, Jade Nguyen and Jacob Bethune attended RMIT University to represent Accru whilst connecting with potential new starters at a graduate level for this year & next.

Run For the Kids
Some of our Accru Run Club members took on the streets of the city to participate in the Herald Sun / Transurban Run for the Kids, raising & donating money to the Good Friday Appeal. Well done to our amazing & committed runners!

Business Chicks International Women’s Day Breakfast
We had a wonderful turn out to the Business Chicks IWD breakfast. It was an inspiring & powerful event, reminding us all to empower the women in our lives, including ourselves. A delicious meal was also served, it was a great kick-start to the day!

Auburn Hotel ‘Parma’ Night
Also, as a part of our new Social Club, we gathered at the local pub for another exciting social event as a firm. Parma’s, or Parmi’s were on the menu, and was an evening enjoyed by all after a week of consistent, hard work.

Retreat
We gathered at Curlewis Golf Resort for our firm retreat in March. We connected with different teams and learnt the different ways they’re achieving their goals and keeping up to date with clients, crossing paths has assisted us to implement changes within our own teams.
We had a guest speaker present a session on personal resilience and learnt the skills to develop our mindfulness habits.

A huge congratulations to Hayley Braid on being this years well-deserved winner of the Russell Curwood award!
We split into thirds for an afternoon of fun! We enjoyed a scenic bike ride, a sip and paint class, painting our ‘inner drag Queens’ as promoted by our theme, Mardis Gras! And took on the driving range & mini golf.

Afterwards we joined forces again for a big Mardi Gras style party! A great night was had by all.

Employee News
More congratulations are in order for Hayley & Lachlan Braid upon announcement of their twin pregnancy! Another exciting baby announcement from Craig Smith, he and his wife, Mollie are also expecting their first baby!
P & C Update
People & Culture have recently implemented recruitment software called JobAdder! Job Adder known is an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) provides an end-to-end recruitment solution that allows us to streamline and enhance our recruitment process, enabling it to be collaborative across the business. It begins from the very start of the recruitment process right through to new employee onboarding. All open recruitment jobs can be managed through the JobAdder platform – posting ads, reviewing CVs, scheduling interviews, storing candidate details, capturing interview notes, right through to reference checking. It also has sophisticated reporting functions.
The many features of JobAdder have greatly assisted us with the recruitment process and provided us with useful data as to where our candidates are coming from, so we know where to target and invest to get great talent.
