Mindfulness Mondays / Wednesdays

Here at Accru Melbourne, we have been doing Mindfulness Mondays. The team from UpLift Community joined us here in the office each Monday for 12 weeks to take us through some breathwork, meditation and connection exercises. It has been a great way to manage our daily stressors and be able to ‘take a deep breath’ and slow down.

The Wealth Management Team goes Ice Skating! Race

The AWM team celebrated the financial year drawing to a close by heading to O’Brien Icehouse in the city for some Ice Skating; majority of the team were new to the sport and started off shaky on their feet, but soon enough they got the hang of it and were skating around hands free! The activity also gave Craig Smith a chance to showcase his hidden talent on the rink from his previous years of playing Ice Hockey! The team then headed to Urban Alley Brewery for a drink and bite to eat to finish up the day.

We got a new coffee machine!

Big news at Accru Melbourne HQ: We got a brand new coffee machine to fuel our caffeine addictions! ☕

Friday Night Bowling

Thanks to the Social Club for a fun night at Strike Bowling Bar! Was a great night to socialise and have fun at the end of the week.

Annual Accru Bake Off

We celebrated our Annual Accru Bake-Off in support of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea!

We indulged in some mouth-watering treats, and we’re thrilled to announce our winners! Linda took home the crown for the most delicious creation with her heavenly coconut & raspberry slice and Brianna showcasing her creativity with her cake pops. Congratulations to Linda, Brianna and all of the Accru team who entered.

Our Office Bake-Off was not only a treat for our taste buds but also an opportunity to support a great cause. By participating, we raised funds for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, helping to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

Check out the delicious coconut & raspberry slice by Linda and the stunning cake pops by Brianna in the photos below!

Special Kids Treadmill Challenge

In the early hours, our amazing team of runners and walkers participated in the Very Special Kids Treadmill Challenge. The aim is to keep the treadmills running for 24 hours non-stop, all-in support of seriously ill children and their families.

Very Special Kids goal for this incredible challenge is to raise $800,000. They’re so close! If you’d like to contribute to this incredible cause, you can donate via the link below. Even the smallest contribution can have a profound impact on the lives of these children.

Farewell Sarah!

We celebrated Sarah’s last day in the office before she headed off on parental leave for baby #2.

She has now since given birth to a beautiful baby boy, Oscar!

Little Oscar was so excited to see what the world has on offer. We wish Sarah a much deserved rest and recovery at home soon and we can’t wait to meet the newest edition of her family!

Congrats Hayley Braid!

Congratulations to our 2023 winner of the Accru Melbourne Russell Curwood Award, Hayley Braid!

Hayley started at Accru in 2020 and has quickly become a superstar within our Business Services Support Team. She displays many great attributes in line with the late Russell Curwood.

Well done Hayley; what a great achievement! You are a very deserving winner.

Russell Curwood was a larger than life character who worked with the firm for 35 years! Sadly he lost his battle with cancer in 2008. The award was established to honour his memory.

The award stands to recognise outstanding performance or achievement incorporating the many great attributes of Russell such as loyalty, dedication, commitment, fantastic sense of humour and humility, appreciation, optimism, caring and happy – just to name a few!

EOFY 2023 – Masquerade Party

And finally, one of the most anticipated events on the Accru Social Calendar and it never disappoints!
