Staff Updates
We welcome Bree into our Admin team in May. Bree will work alongside Steph as a Client Services Administrator.
We also welcome Clare at the end of June, who joins us as an Administrative Assistant in the Financial Planning Team.
Unfortunately, we farewelled Mel one of our Senior Accountants, and Kathleen our Senior Bookkeeper.
Accru LEAP and ACATG
We had a mass exodus to Sydney for two major Accru events in April.
Sarah, Tim, Fiona, Marcus, Alec, Ben and Josh D went to Leap. It was a great event, with the Taronga Zoo Dinner and the sessions on team recognition a few favourites!
Mel, Tyler and Pete went to ACATG with Courtney and Amy as presenters for Business Services 2.
Team Retreat
We celebrated with our Team at our Annual Retreat, focusing on “One Destination, Many Pathways”. We all have different areas of interest and expertise, but across this we want to be compliant, future proof, an employer of choice and have a quality client experience.
We spent the day working on personal goals for the next few years. It was great to see our team share their goals, and even our newest team members participate (Bree came along before even starting with us!).
We spent the night around a firepit, with the Taco Taco Food Truck and live music. Plenty of great stories were shared, and we learnt a few new things – like Sarah’s terrific worm dance and Vini’s rapping ability!
We also announced our Annual Michael Burnett Award Winner, that most represents our culture and values. Ben Watkins was the well-deserved dinner!
Mid-Year Dinner
We celebrated the end of the financial year with a dinner at “Shippies” (The Ship Wrights Arms Hotel for the non-locals).
It is always nice to bring the team together, with partners, and celebrate another year. Unfortunately, no photos, everyone was too busy talking to one another!
Push Up Challenge
Some of our more active team members participated in the Push Up Challenge, raising $1,100 for mental health. The team completed over 16,000 push ups in June. Every hour the team would do a few push ups, towards their daily target. A very impressive effort!
Upcoming Announcements
We’re super excited to announce Sarah and Alec as Shareholders for the upcoming financial year.
Alec is our Head of Wealth Management, and whilst being with Accru for a year at 24 July, he has hit the ground running – improving our use of technologies, repricing our clients to reasonable ongoing fees in line with market and improving our annual review presentation.
Sarah is our terrific Practice Manager, who manages our day to day, and everything else we throw at her! Helping with our strategic projects, managing career review processes, recruitment, and even taking on payroll.
