Greg Winnett, Audit Partner at Accru Melbourne has grown up sailing from the age of 7 years old competing in a number of dinghy classes plus some keel boat racing, Greg has more recently renewed his passion for the sport back at Sandringham Yacht Club.
Included in a crew of 10 Greg is now sailing on a Beneteau First 40 called ‘Bandit’ (pictured above) owned and skippered by a friend from his junior sailing days. Competitive racing in Club events on Port Phillip Bay and some ocean racing that will include the Melbourne to Hobart yacht race departing Portsea on 27th December, across Bass Straight and heading down the West Coast of Tasmania and up into the Derwent River to Hobart.
As a pre-curser to the Hobart race Bandit competed in the Melbourne to Stanley event, finishing third over the line and second on handicap. The race started from Queenscliff on 4th November and took Bandit 22 hours to reach Stanley on the North West Coast of Tasmania.
