I started my career at Accru Hobart in 2007, where I began working full time whilst completing my degree at the University of Tasmania. Starting out at reception, I learnt the ropes of the business quickly and was soon able to devote my time to assisting accounting clients. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Business and set out on the Chartered Accountants Program that year, becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant in 2013.
I also joined the senior team at Accru and was given the opportunity to complete a secondment at a CPAAI accounting firm in Washington DC where I assisted with audits and income tax returns for 8 weeks – a great experience professionally and personally.
Two years later, I completed the Accru Managers program, a leadership development program enabling participants to play a key role in the firm’s future.
Due to continued and sustained growth of Accru Hobart, Michael Burnett and Tim Lane welcomed me as the third Partner of Accru Hobart in July 2016, starting an exciting new chapter for me.
More recently, I have become a Business Valuation specialist alongside Tim Lane, valuing both local and interstate businesses, particularly in the financial services sector. Business Valuations can assist clients when an opportunity arises to sell, buy or merge a business, when there are family law issues, a new owner, or in preparation for an exit strategy. Valuations are also great for performance enhancement. I assist my clients right through to the very end and this makes it a very worthwhile and rewarding process.
