Courtney - Junior Accountant
I joined Accru in July 2007 after commencing full time study for a Bachelor of Business degree at the University of Tasmania. I aim to finish my degree and start the CA Program next year.
Accru has always been supportive of our studies, allowing us time out from work to complete our degrees. Although university can become quite stressful, the senior staff are always willing to assist with their knowledge and expertise.
I have worked in a variety of areas since joining Accru, but have spent most of my time in business services gaining experience with accounting and taxation. I now also have responsibility for our Corporate Registry service. I like being able to work over many areas in the accounting field rather than the one, ie not just Accounting OR Audit. I feel that many firms do not offer this flexibility and I am at an advantage in this sense.
There have been many high points during my short time with Accru. Going to Melbourne for an NTAA conference, the mid and end of year functions, and of course watching the firm expand and incorporate financial planning into its services.
Outside of work, I dance twice a week and enjoy spending time with friends and family.
